A day in kindergarten

A DAY IN KINDERGARTEN

A regular day:

Hello/goodbye:

Children, who arrive in kindergarten during breakfast, will wave goodbye from the breakfast table.

Children, who arrive later, will wave from our regular waving spot next to the glass door.

In order to make 'saying goodbye' easier for the children, we prioritize that all staff use the same waving method.

If your child has special needs in regards to saying goodbye, it is important that parents contact the staff and ask for help.

Meals:

Breakfast:

Breakfast is served from 6.30 - 7.30 AM. If children arrive after breakfast and failed to eat from home, he/she is allowed to eat a piece of bread from his/her lunch box.

Bread and Fruit:

We serve bread and fruit every morning from 9 to 9.30 AM. The fruit will predominantly be organic or Danish.

Dinner:

From approx. 11.30 AM – 12 PM, the children will eat their packed lunches.

Afternoon lunch:

We serve bread and fruit every afternoon from 2 to 2.30 PM. Some days, we serve porridge or something else instead.

At times, we make arrangements for food days either inside or by preparing food over the fire. It can also be a project themed: "From Earth to Table". Sometimes, the kindergarten covers the costs and sometimes we will do it buffet-style and ask you to bring something for the table e.g. mackerel.

Nap time:

In the afternoon, the youngest children will nap on mattresses in the pillow-playroom.

An adult will be present in the room for approx. 30 minutes – the children, who are not sleeping will go outside to play.
